The goal is to deliver oversized cargo from the port of Qingdao (China) to the city of Derbent (Republic of Dagestan, Russia)
Cargo - skirt cylinder and the middle part of the distillation tower, the lower and upper parts, as well as the reboiler of the analyzer, 5 Pcs with a total weight of 58 tons, maximum dimensions, length 16510 m, width 2786 m, height 2732 m.
Transportation method: sea freight from the port of Qingdao to the port of Vladivostok, then transportation by trucks to the city of Derbent.
The STELS A company, acting as the transport division of the HARDFOR group of companies, had a task to deliver oversized cargo via the above route. The cargo was ready for transportation on the 10th of December 2022, respectively, the vessel’s arrival at the port of Vladivostok occurred on the 20th of December 2022, and customs clearance after unloading the vessel was completed almost on New Year’s Eve.
Next, the cargo was loaded onto 4 specialized truck trawls for transporting oversized cargo, which carried parts of the towers to final destination.
Transportation was hampered by heavy congestion at the port, as well as bad weather associated with a sharp drop in air temperature along the route. On some parts of the route, during stops, drivers even had to keep their engines running so that they could start them later.
However, the cargo was delivered safely and unloaded at the consignee's site at the end of January 2023.
