HARDFOR company organized the delivery of a disassembled steam compressor from the Chinese port of Qingdao to the city of Beslan.
The compressor consisted of 2 Pcs (2 wooden boxes with components inside). Dimensions of the 1st box: 5000*3540*3350 mm. Dimensions of the 2nd box: 3500*300*2700 mm. Total gross weight - 22500 kg.
Route: Qingdao port - Vladivostok - Beslan.
Transportation was carried out on a tramp vessel to Vladivostok and then by truck to Beslan. The choice of such a complex long-term route was made due to the fact that the cost of sea freight for a 40-foot Flat Rack container on the line service to Novorossiysk (the usual route for this type of cargo) increased significantly in the context of a shortage of containers and rising line prices. As a result, the cost of transportation via the route through Vladivostok with reloading at the port and shipment by road trawl across Russia turned out to be much cheaper than the price for regular service along a much shorter route.
However, nuances arose that had to be resolved during the implementation of the project. Due to the congestion of Chinese ports due to coronavirus restrictions, the mooring and departure of the vessel were shifted for almost 2-3 weeks. In addition, we had to hold the truck in Vladivostok (which caused demurrage), because permission for the transportation of OOG cargo has already been obtained.
Due to the large commodity traffic via the ports of Vladivostok, there was a long delay in berthing the vessel. As a result, the compressor was unloaded at the terminal and removed from the port, safely reaching its destination later. The transportation was tracked all the way by GORADAR tracking system.
